Beaten @ Our Own Game...

Time: 10:18pm
Mood: sad :(
Song of the moment: Jack Johnson - Upside Down

I can't believe it. Actually I can. Team Canada (hockey) lost to the Russians in the quarter final game. 2-0. They didn't even score a goal!! Yeah.. so I'm not too happy about that. And I'm guessing my fellow Canadians feel the sting of a no-goal, no-medal showing @ the Olympics. I must say I didn't expect much out of this team after watching them play the Swiss team on the weekend. They just don't play well as a team. Where was the lucky loonie this time?! Obviously not burried @ center ice :P Oh well.. we'll just have to wait 'til the Olympics hit Van-city in 2010!

So I've been a bit frustrated @ work lately. I've been staying late every single day these past two weeks. I stayed until 7:30 yesterday, and 7 today. Partially b/c other people can't do their job properly, making me suffer. I had this guy tell me my work was "unaccetable" because it wasn't organized in the way he wanted it to be organized. But really, it's HIS job to organize the data, I am there merely to provide him w/ it. He INSISTED it was my job (this happened yesterday). I was so flustered after dealing w/ that incompetent asshole of a man, and went back to tell my co-workers. They ALL told me it wasn't my job to organize the data. I even asked the other Validation Engineer, even my old boss and they all said it wasn't my responsiblity. So today I stormed back and told him he could organize it himself. What did he do? He told me he wasn't accepting my work. Period. I told him it wasn't my job and that he could even ask my boss about it. Instead he directed me to his boss. His boss was nice.. and in the end, I agreed (and I made this clear that it was out of the goodness of my heart and I was doing them a HUGE favor) that I would assist them in organizing it (even though I had already organized the data.. they just didn't like the way I organized it... those f**kers!). I'm just too f-ing nice I guess :P

I have no problem stepping beyond what is required of me.. but only if it doesn't keep me from doing what I am being paid to do. I have been completely swamped the past few days, and for these guys that obviously have no idea what they're doing there to tell me what my job is, and pretty much force me to do their job.. that just ticks me off. I hate ppl like that.

At least I have ppl backing me up :) 2 more days til the weekend (this is bad.. I'm starting to work for the weekends...*sigh* I need a new job.. haha)

Olympic Obsessed

Time: 1:58pm
Mood: Tired & Lazy
Song of the moment: Jack Johnson - Upside Down

I know I havn't blogged in the longest time. I've been so busy @ work :S I think I've stayed late every day these past 3 weeks. Last friday I stayed at work until 8:30.. this friday I stayed until 7. This is absolutely ridiculous. There is just too much to do for one person, and I'm getting pushed by 3 different people to do 3 different things, each which needs my absolute full attention. *sigh* I am getting overworked for sure!

So the Torino Olympics started last week and guess who's obsessed? I love watching the olympics, especially the winter ones. I wish I could take 2 weeks off just to watch! Actually I'm watching right now :) haha! Canada has 12 medals so far *yay*! *crosses fingers* hope there are more to come! Go Canada Go!! I'm still pretty pissed off about the Canada/Swiss men's hockey game *grr* Hopefully they play better today...

This week has been so busy that I didn't have a chance to celebrate Valentines day w/ Jimmy until this Friday. His gift to me was to make me dinner :) It just was a little sucky b/c I had to stay late for work on friday, so we ate pretty late (stupid work!). But I did have a chance to celebrate his birthday w/ him on wednesday :D I took him out for Japanese food :)

Hahah I don't quite feel motivated to write for some reason.. partially b/c I'm watching the olympics! haha! Oooh!! Canada definitely has another medal!! Just what colour is yet to come (gold or silver in bobsled...) Exciting!! :D
