The Worst Promise

Time: 10:48
Mood: Burnt out!
Song of the moment: The Used - All That I've Got

There was a catch to buying those boots last friday that I had forgot to mention because it pains me to think about it. Jimmy has made me promise that I would not shop for 3 months (including this month). 79 more days... 1896 more hours... OMG what was I thinking?! Obviously I was not! Shoes.. look what they do to me! Jimmy says it'll do me good.. HA! He's on the receiving end of my constant complaints and whines.. he just made more work for himself (suckerrrrr!). I guess I can have the last laugh that way :D

Anyway, so we all know what happens to us when we can't do something.. we want to do it more! It's just human nature. I've been finding myself doing some online "window" shopping. (*side note* so wait.. Jimmy didn't mention specifically I couldn't do online shopping right? yeah yeah.. I know... *sigh*). The list of things I want keeps growing.. I swear by May I'm going to be a shopping monster! I know one thing I'm going to get.. I'm gonna get myself a Chinese Laundry purse. OOoooh they're so damn cute! 79 more days....

You know, I might as well give up shopping for Lent. Officially I've given up drinking tea. Shit I'm bloody nuts... shopping AND tea?

79 more days.....

The Boots/Tundra

Time: 1:04 pm
Mood: Cheerful (it's sunny outside!)
Song of the moment: U2 - Vertigo (it's playing on Much Music right now)

Wednesday I went shopping with Marta and Laura @ Limeridge Mall. Laura was in a total shopping mood (this was her first shopping trip in a long time.. and you could totally tell cuz she went on a spending spree!), and Marta & I were just there to tag along.. and do a bit of shopping ourselves. I had gone shopping last Sunday with Jimmy so I wasn't expecting to buy anything, but history as taught you (and myself), whenever I don't entend to do something, I end up doing excessively. The first store we went to was Bata, and as you all know, I have a major weakness when it comes to shoes. I actually bought a pair on Sunday (fun casual running shoes). I had been to Bata on Sunday and saw these black boots, tried on one boot but didn't think much of them. When I walked into the store, I showed the gals the boots and they liked them, so I tried on one boot again and eh.. I kinda liked them. So I thought I should walk around the mall and think about it (I need new black boots! ok I don't NEED them, but I need them). We continued to walk around the mall and shop (I ended up buying this scarf you tie around your waist, and a hat. yeah I know.. a hat! but it was cute.. and only $10!) and right near closing I decided to go back and try on those boots again. Laura went off to Sears to buy socks, while Marta and I went back to Bata. I tried them both on (not just one this time) and I loved them! But I noticed there was a dent on one of the boots, and they were the last pair of 7s the store was carrying. AGH! So I got the boots' item number and decided I would call the Bata's in Toronto and see if they had the same boots.

The next day, I called around to see if other Bata's had this boot. I called Fairview, Town Center.. even Yorkdale, and I got the same response from each store: Sorry, we don't have them. Actually the one @ Fairview mall said they have never carried that model. I was so sad after that. But then I decided I would go check out the stores on the weekend because I honestly had no faith in these Bata salespeople. Friday night, before I headed downtown to meet Jimmy for dinner, I popped by the Bata @ Fairview and *gasp* my boots! I found my boots! And the had one pair of 7s left :) So now I have the boots I had to have :) Hooray me!

Anyway, so after I got my wonderful boots, I headed downtown to meet Jimmy for dinner at Tundra. Tundra was part of Winterlicious, an event in Toronto that lasts approximately 2 weeks where some of Toronto's finest restaurants offer $20 lunch menus or $20-30 dinner menus. It gives a chance for not so rich people like me to try these high-end restaurants. The food there was excellent! One of the best Winterlicious/Summerlicious restaurants I've been to. I really enjoyed the food, the environment and the service. They had this sun-dried tomato bread spread that was to die for. It was kewls because we bumped into Harrison, a friend of ours. Him and his friends were sitting at the table right beside us (what a small world!). When Jimmy got there (he arrived before me) he was talking to the lobby receptionist (the restaurnt is located in the Hilton) and she told him that the food was great, and that he would definitely be back. I'm telling you, she's absolutely right! I would definitely go back!
